For Dad…
To be heard, without saying a word
To be hugged when I'm feeling blue,
To be understood when I am confused
So rare was a dad like you.
Your loving smile and gentle laugh
Made all the difference in my day.
Your endless wisdom and timeless advice
always helped me find my way.
In you, there was no equal
You were in a class all your own.
And because of all the love, you gave me
I'll never be alone.
It's an honor to have known you
To have shared stories and dreams.
I'll always think of you smiling & saying everything will be alright
No matter how tough life seams.
You're still special beyond compare,
Your heart so kind and true,
I wish that everyone on earth

The Greatest Hero
This world has many heroes, some you would know by name.
They give their best at what they do, so I guess they deserve their fame.
But among all of the heroes this world has ever had,
There is not one admired more, than the guy I call my dad.
Perhaps not like the others, he never looked for praise.
He was heroic in his thoughtful caring ways.
Perhaps he's not as famous as the others that you see.
But he was everything and so much more than heroes ought to be.
He kept his word, it was good as gold, on this you could depend.
He was honest and loyal too, he was also a true friend.
When I hear about a hero and the great things they have done,
It reminds me of my dad, for he was the greatest one.
